Notes on MP3/WMA/AAC files
MP3/WMA/AAC files with file extension <.mp3>, <.wma> or <.m4a> are playable.
This system can play back MP3/WMA/AAC files recorded at the following sampling frequency and bitrate.
Sampling frequency:
8 to 48 kHz
Bitrate:
8 to 320 kbps
This System recognizes up to 255 folders and 999 files on a USB device.
The USB-compatible file system includes FAT16 and FAT32.
The System cannot play back files larger than 2 GB.
Some MP3/WMA/AAC files may not be playable due to the condition or method of recording. In that case, “Can't Play” is displayed.
MP3/WMA/AAC files playback order
(Folders without MP3/WMA/AAC files are ignored.)
Playback begins in sequence with the folder that is first created. Within the folder, the tracks are played in the order they are created.
The playback order may be changed if you change the folder name or file name (track name) on the PC.
The maximum number of displayable characters in the System is as follows.
Folder name: 64 characters
File name: 64 characters (including the extension)
Tag display (track title/artist/album title):
ID3 v1.0/ 1.1: 30 characters
ID3 v2.2/ 2.3/ 2.4: 100 characters
Characters that are not supported will be displayed as “*”.
Depending on the characteristics of the disc, recording condition, etc., even audio files in compliance with the above-mentioned standards may not be played back.
Depending on the specifications and settings of the encode software, playback may not be possible.
DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected files cannot be played.
Some audio files encoded using VBR (Variable Bit Rate) may be outside the range of compatible bitrates. These audio files cannot be played.
