Adjust the Parametric Equalizer

Preparation

  1. Correct the value in “Listening Position” and “Front Focus” before adjusting the parametric equalizer. See Listening Position / DTA.

    Press the button.
    KW-Z800AW
    Touch at the top of the screen.
    Touch HOME on the popup menu.
  2. HOME screen appears.
  3. Touch .
  4. Touch [Audio].
  5. Touch [Sound Effect].
  6. Set the Parametric EQ to [ON] and touch [Yes].
  7. Touch [SETUP].
  8. Parametric EQ screen appears.
  9. While auditioning music, move the peaking filter to the left and right to search for unpleasant peaks and suppress them.
  10. Use pink noise and an analyzer to identify dips, as dips are difficult to find.
  11. Correct steep (10 dB or greater) peaks and dips as these are generally regarded as obstructions to sound quality.
  12. Set each parameter as follows.
  13. When you have finished adjustments, save the results as a preset, and check the effects by switching presets or turning the Parametric EQ [ON] and [OFF].
  14. Use the Graphic Equalizer to make final adjustments. Sound Effect

 

1 Speaker

Select the speaker.

2 EQ points/curve

Displays the EQ point and the curve. Adjust the EQ points by touching.

3 Filter

Select the filter.

“High Pass” / “High Shelving” / “Peaking” / “Low Shelving” / “Low Pass”

4 Affects All Speakers *1

5 [Initialize] / [Flat]

6 Frequency / Gain

Set the frequency and gain.

[T] and [U] adjust the frequency.

[R] and [S] adjust the gain.

NOTE

  1. Touch the EQ point to roughly determine the frequency and gain, then use this key to make fine adjustments.

7 Q / Slope *2

Set the Q factor and slope.

8 Point

Select the EQ point to adjust.

9 Preset

 

  1. Only when the speaker other than “Common” is selected.
  2. When “Peaking” filter is selected, you can adjust the Q factor. When “High Pass” or “Low Pass” filter is selected, you can adjust the slope.

NOTE

  1. You can adjust the EQ points and curve based on a preset EQ. Recall the preset EQ and touch the preset key again to unselect it before adjustment.
